The Portland Loo comes to Reno

We are delighted to announce the ribbon cutting of the first new Portland Loo on August 17, 2020 at 9:00 am at Brodhead Park! Please come and join us to celebrate the Loo’s opening.

The Portland Loo, River Restroom Project, evolved out of the One Truckee River Management Plan, Phase I that was developed over the course of many years with multiple Government, nonprofit, local businesses, and residents’ input and insight. In 2016, the OTR Plan was unanimously approved by the three local jurisdictions.

The installation of the new Loo would not have been possible without our listed partners below. Thank you for your individual involvement and agency’s contribution to make this new public restroom possible that will help to protect water quality and improve the Truckee River corridor area for recreational use by increasing facilities available to the public.

See the attached Project Message Map for further project communication.

Project partners are Truckee Meadows Water Authority, Truckee River Fund, Washoe County Parks and Open Space, Washoe County Health District, City of Reno, Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, Renown Health, Nevada Land Trust, Karma Box Project, Reno Initiative for Shelter and Equality, and Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful.
