Idlewild Health Walk
May 1 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, in cooperation with our partners at the Alzheimer’s Association, the Sanford Center for Aging, and the Reno Senior Citizen Advisory Committee, is offering a free, weekly series of interpretive walks specifically-designed for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
The walks are an extension of the Discover Your Parks program, the goal of which is to get citizens outdoors exploring and stewarding our local parks. These walks will give participants an opportunity learn about natural world through an experiential exploration of seasonal change along the Truckee River in Idlewild Park. The walks will focus on phenology, which is the study of seasonal change in relation to plant and animal life (i.e first bud burst of target plants, first sighting of specific bird, first leaf fall of the season, etc.).
Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
