Discover Your Parks Evening Walks: Dorostkar Park

Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is leading weekly interpretive hikes in a park near you! Come explore a new location and learn about the various ecology and unique history of parks in our area.

Plan on spending a little more than one hour on each walk. Distances range from 0.5 miles to 1.5 miles. Hikes begin Thursday, April 5th, 2018 and will continue every Thursday through the end of September. The walks are free and open to everyone.

Dorostkar Park

This park sits right on the Truckee River and is a part of the Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway. It’s popular with cyclists, hikers, and dog walkers alike. Come learn how to tell if a river is healthy and what role parks like this play in keeping it that way.

No restrooms are available. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome.

Directions: (6331 Mayberry Dr, Reno, NV 89519) From I-80W, take exit 10 for McCarran Blvd W. and turn left (south) onto N. McCarran Blvd. Travel .7 miles and turn right (west) onto W. 4th Street. Travel 1.7 miles on W. 4th St. and turn left (south) onto Mayberry Drive. Drive .3 miles on Mayberry Dr. and Dorostkar Park will be on your left (north). We’ll meet in the parking lot.
